Texas wants to secede from the Union. No one cares.

Yeah, well really miss you guys...

Yeah, we'll really miss you guys...

I’m from the South, and I have a slight love affair with it.  I miss the warm weather, the sharp sunsets, those fun afternoons on porches with a beer, that nice hug of humidity.  I don’t miss everything else.  Which, if you have the time, I’ll detail all and every piece of crap that is wrong with the South.  And the most annoying bit of it is this amazingly stupid idea that the South should have won the Civil War.  I guess that’s why Texas wants to leave the Union.  Yep.  Seriously.  With all the tea-bagging stuff go around and everything else, its like everyone lost their damn minds up in this piece.  From the Huffington Post:

Perry repeated his running theme that Texas’ economy is in relatively good shape compared with other states and with the “federal budget mess.” Many in the crowd held signs deriding President Barack Obama and the $786 billion federal economic stimulus package. Perry called his supporters patriots. Later, answering news reporters’ questions, Perry suggested Texans might at some point get so fed up they would want to secede from the union, though he said he sees no reason why Texas should do that. “There’s a lot of different scenarios,” Perry said. “We’ve got a great union. There’s absolutely no reason to dissolve it. But if Washington continues to thumb their nose at the American people, you know, who knows what might come out of that. But Texas is a very unique place, and we’re a pretty independent lot to boot.”

There’s even audio in the link.  So, Texas, you want to be your own country?  Cool.  Have fun trying to raise your own army and defending yourself against the current wave of Cartels waging war all over your border.  Like my great-grand-dad use to say: Don’t let the door knob hit ya where the good Lord split ya.  Or something like that.
