The Daily Daily: Real Books Vs. E-Books Caged DeathMatch!

Blah Blah Blah. Amazon reports that e-books out sold their real books.  Blah Blah Blah.

Over the past three months, for every 100 hardcover books Amazon.com has sold, it sold 143 Kindle books. That trend accelerated even more over the last month, when Kindle books outsold hardcovers by a 180-to-100 margin.

This is only a big deal for two reasons.  One, just because Amazon is selling more E-books doesn’t mean they are making more money.  Remember, E-books are way cheaper than a brand-new Hardcover book.  I promise you, once more people become addicted to buying e-books, publishers will slowly jack up the price to take advantage of you being a stupid consumer.  Second, this could be a sign that people are buying real books someplace else, and  using Amazon just to buy E-books.  Still, the idea that people are reading more should be a positive sign for you this morning.  They are all reading crap, most likely.  Sorry.  I’m moody.  My allergies.  You know how it is.  Good Morning!
